Géraldine cultivates chardonnay and pinot noir with passion in the Groslée-St-Benoit region, on the border between Ain and Isère, in Savoie. Its privileged terroir benefits from an exceptional location, close to the Rhône (alluvial soils) and the Tentanet mountains, belonging to the Jura massif (limestone and moraine soils). This location in the heart of a protected ecological zone, a Natural Zone of Ecological, Fauna and Floristic Interest (ZNIEFF), contributes to the ecological balance of its vineyard and the respect for Nature so dear to our winegrower. Its grapes are grown organically, and the tree-lined plots offer a cool and preserved environment, thus protecting them from drought and potential heatwaves.
The desire to create wine emerged in 2020, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, a time marked by anxiety and restrictions related to the disease. Géraldine, formerly a magistrate for 20 years, had a career rich in experience, from the excitement of the first posts in Nord-Pas-de-Calais to her role within the European Commission.
However, a transition was necessary with the rise of Covid-19. So, she and her entourage decided to create “Vivants!”, a wine adventure anchored in the memories of her youth, the summers spent working in the hay and wine tastings in the company of her father. She aspired to make living wine, radiating energy and authenticity, rather than lifeless wines, “dead” wines as she says. Thus, by settling in Savoie, she embraced the world of wine with a deep respect for nature. His wines are the result of meticulous work, growing grapes without chemicals, vinification with little intervention and limited use of sulfur, chemical yeasts, enzymes, glues or oenological products.
With limited resources, in its first vintage it offers a white wine and a red wine, simple, refreshing and full of life, designed to restore courage and to be shared with friends and family. These wines embody the energy of the mountains, the sap of the vines and the sun that heats the grapes, conveying positive energy when tasted. An adventure in the world of wine, guided by the desire to preserve the authenticity of nature and celebrate life.
