Antoine Chevalier

Antoine Chevalier’s philosophy is based on the idea that "the horizon is the limit", embodying the spirit of an independent house, on a human scale, and determined to reveal its terroir. Antoine Chevalier, the first winemaker of the family, represents the third generation rooted in these limestone hills of Vitry-en-Perthois. Convinced of the need for an eco-responsible and eco-logical viticulture, he perpetuates the family heritage with passion, succeeding his father Dominique and his grandfather Guy, who were initially farmers and breeders before planting their first vines in 1973.

Located in the municipalities of Vitry-en-Perthois, Couvrot and Val-de-vière, Antoine Chevalier’s champagnes draw their identities from a mosaic of terroirs nestled in the heart of a hilly and green landscape. The Coteaux Vitryats, made mainly of chalk, offer Chardonnay, a noble grape variety, an ideal land to express freshness and elegance in the wines of the house. In the vineyard as in the cellar, Antoine’s philosophy aims to accompany what nature offers. The Carkonnia cuvée illustrates this approach, with its delicate and creamy material with exotic tones. Antoine obtained organic viticulture certification in 2020, followed by biodynamic certification in 2021. Each plot is vinified separately, preserving its unique character and aromatic potential. This approach led Antoine to develop exclusively white champagnes of vintage whites, marking the commitment of the house to authenticity and quality.
