Champagne Piollot
A living family tradition on the hillsides of Polisot
Five generations committed to sustainable viticulture
Located in Polisot, in the heart of the Côte des Bar, the Piollot house has seen no less than five generations of winegrowers. Today, Roland Piollot manages the estate. He returned to the estate in 1986 and decided to stop selling grapes through trading, to sell in bottles. Roland Piollot will inherit from his father a vision of viticulture very oriented towards working the soil and observing the plant. In 2009, he switched the estate to organic farming, and in 2014 everything will be certified in biodynamics. At the Domaine, we also found Jeanne, Roland's daughter, also at the head of Domaine Dame Jeanne.
An old and diverse vineyard in the Côte des Bar
Today, the 8.5 hectare estate is made up mainly of Pinot Noir, supplemented by Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Meunier and also a little Arbanne. More than half of the estate is over 40 years old.
A parcel-based interpretation of Polisot’s terroir
Domaine Piollot boasts an approach that is often parcel-based and single-varietal. Comparative tasting of the different vintages allows you to appreciate all the diversity of the Polisot terroirs.
