Thomas Tixier

Located in the heart of Courgis in Burgundy, Thomas Tixier 's wine estate embodies the revival of the wine-making tradition in the Chablis region. Founded in 1988 by Martine Letessier on a modest plot of 40 ares, the vineyard has gradually prospered under the watchful eye of the Tixier family, now covering 8 hectares.

Originally from the family estate, Thomas Tixier joined the business in 2007, determined to breathe new life into wine production. Strongly influenced by his travels around France and his discovery of natural viticultural practices, he decided in 2022 toembrace a more respectful approach to nature and terroir.

Thomas Tixier 's vineyards are a real tribute to local biodiversity. After leasing 4 hectares of vines to concentrate on the remaining 4, he made the transition toorganic farming. The vines, located near Courgis and bathed in the prestigious Chablis appellations, are devoted exclusively to Chardonnay, the region's emblematic grape variety.

In the cellar, Thomas Tixier strives to preserve the very essence of the grape. Renouncing the use of oenological inputs, he favours natural vinification, without filtration or fining. Although he maintains a small dose of sulphites to protect the wine, it remains extremely low, demonstrating his commitment to more environmentally-friendly viticulture.

The result in the glass is a pure delight for Chablis lovers. Thomas Tixier 'sChablis Grosse Terre 2022 seduces with itsbuttery aromas and delicate notes of candied yellow fruit. On the palate, its freshness and acidic balance faithfully reflect the terroir of the region, offering a truly authentic taste experience.
