Domaine des 3 Saules
François Laborie decided in 2015 to finally pack his bags and return to his native lands: Périgord. He then decided to put his years of wine-growing experience accumulated in France and abroad to good use and settled in the village of Villefranche de Lonchat, 40km east of Bergerac. He therefore takes over this wine estate, with 6 ha of vines where Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sémillon and Sauvignon grow in high density, on deep clay terroirs (which maintains a water reserve for the vines even in the event of drought). In addition to the 6 ha of vines, the estate is completed with 7 ha of meadow, perfect for a future mixed farming farm project... The management and certification of his estate as soon as it was purchased in organic farming was only the logical start of a large global project. Today François works with what some will call peasant common sense: reestablishing natural or sown grass cover, superficial soil work to aerate the latter... He has also chosen short pruning on his vines in order to to avoid excess production, or at least, in order to concentrate it. Each stage of work is made aware and thought through by François, his goal: to offer us the most honest and sincere wines possible.
