Raphaëlle Guyot
Raphaëlle Guyot embodies youth and boldness in the Burgundy wine world. Her career path began in 2015, when she obtained her BTS in viticulture-oenology in Beaune. Eager to acquire a wide range of experience, she trained with renowned estates such as Thibault Liger Belair, La Grange Tiphaine and Vincent Pinard, broadening her winegrowing horizons across France.
In 2018, Raphaëlle decided to return home to the peaceful countryside of Puisaye-Forterre, between Sancerre and Chablis, to make her dream come true: to create her own domaine. With a few acres of vines buried under brambles, she took on the ambitious challenge of replanting a dozen hectares, breathing new life into land that had been home to vines since the 19th century. Her project spotlights the region's limestone hillsides, in the hope of inspiring other winegrowers to follow in her footsteps.
In the vineyards, Raphaëlle favors an environmentally-friendly approach, eschewing chemicals in favor of organic farming. Concerned with preserving biodiversity, she has also initiated the practice of agroforestry, planting hundreds of trees on her estate. Harvesting is manual, grapes are meticulously sorted, and vinification is as hands-off as possible, with only a hint of sulfur added to stabilize the wines, thus ensuring a natural wine approach. The cuvées then rest in vats or barrels, maturing peacefully for 7 to 12 months, depending on their character.
Alongside her own production, Raphaëlle carefully selects grapes from the terroirs of theAuxerrois region, from estates committed to organic farming, to vinify and age her whites. In the glass, her wines stand out for their freshness andmineral character for the whites, while the reds seduce with their fruitiness and liveliness, offering an authentic yet modern interpretation of the Burgundian terroir. Raphaëlle Guyot's winegrowing history is testimony to a passion and commitment that promise new discoveries and great successes in the world of wine.
