Dominique Dufour
An engineer turned winemaker in Anjou
From aerospace to Chenin Blanc
Domaine Dominique Dufour is located in Rablay-sur-Layon, in the heart of Anjou . After a career as an engineer in aeronautics, Dominique Dufour returned to his native land in 2014 to devote himself to viticulture. He settled on a plot of 70 ares on the Aussigouins terroir, a popular area where he exclusively cultivates Chenin Blanc.
An uncompromising artisanal philosophy
Uncertified viticulture, rooted in conviction
Attached to a natural approach, he practices organic viticulture without certification, favoring minimal interventions to preserve the pure expression of the terroir. The yields are deliberately low, and since 2018 , no sulfites have been added during vinification.
A single, singular cuvée
Experto R, Chenin from the Layon
His only cuvée, Experto R 2023 , is a Chenin Blanc aged in old barrels, some of which come from Château Haut-Brion . This wine reveals a beautiful tension, a silky texture and an aromatic complexity that seduce lovers of artisan wines.
A rare expression of terroir
Domain Dominique Dufour thus embodies the journey of an enthusiast, offering a rare and sought-after wine, faithful to the unique identity of Anjou.
