Alexandre Chaillon Vollereaux
Alexandre Chaillon, an engineer by training, decided in 2017 to return to Champagne, and take over his mother's vineyards. The estate is located in Aÿ, in the Marne Valley, while the vineyards extend over the southern slopes of Epernay, in Pierry and Brugny, on terroirs of chalk, marl and clay. In 2020, Alexandre Chaillon was elected President of the Groupe des jeunes viticulteurs de Champagne, which represents and defends the interests of young winegrowers in Champagne, promising organic farming and zero herbicides. Alexandre immediately converted his plots to organic from 2020. Alexandre's plots are planted with three grape varieties: 59% Chardonnay, 23% Pinot Noir and 18% Pinot Meunier. In the cellar, vinification, fermentation and ageing take place in 228l and 300l barrels and 4 stoneware eggs. Alexandre's champagnes offer a very gourmet sensory profile, innervated by a tasty, fresh frame, in search of a balance as subtle as it is exciting in their expressions. Of particular note: the work on the paper caps, an innovation created for the estate.
