Recovered time
Michaël Georget, the artisan winemaker of Domaine Le Temps Retrouvé, is a true lover of the land and a farmer at heart. Originally from Chinon, he was always passionate about nature and finally chose to become a winegrower. He traveled through the vineyards of the Loire and Alsace before settling in the Pyrénées-Orientales, precisely in Laroque-des-Albères, at the foot of the Albères massif. In 2012, he bought an estate of 10 ha of vines, which he immediately converted to organic farming, obtaining certification in 2015. This estate bears the evocative name of "Le Temps Retrouvé" in homage to the importance of time in the creation of living wines. Biodynamics is at the heart of its approach, with vines maintained naturally and grassed by native plants to promote microbial life and the mineral expression of the terroir. He also practices gentle pruning to respect the plant's sap circuits, extend the lifespan of the vines and avoid wood diseases. All vinification is carried out in an entirely natural way, without adding any oenological inputs or sulphites. The wines are then only sold when Michaël deems them ready, which can mean that certain vintages are only sold several years after the harvest. Each vintage corresponds to a grape variety from a single plot and the wines of Domaine Le Temps Retrouvé are distinguished by their unique and intense character. They are unlike any other wine in the region and gain in aromatic complexity with age. This unique and natural approach has earned Michaël Georget a well-deserved place among the passionate and exciting winegrowers of Roussillon. His estate is a little gem located in the heart of the Albères massif in the Pyrenees, where nature is respected and pampered. Michaël Georget embodies the idea of an artisan winemaker deeply attached to the preservation of the terroir and the creation of authentic and living wines. His wines are a reflection of this passion and this philosophy, and they deserve to be discovered for their originality and depth.
