Wine Noah

Jon Purcell created his Vin Noé domaine in 2017, in Burgundy. Originally from California, he is part of this new generation of Burgundy winemakers. After travelling the world and making wine in Australia, California and South Africa, Jon decided to study at the Beaune wine school. In his class, he met the "sons and daughters of" the Beaujolaisregion, including Alex Foillard, Camille Lapierre and Yann Bertrand. After graduating, he went to work for Philippe Pacalet. It was there that he learned the art of gentle vinification.
He began by buying Gamay grapes in the Beaujolais region, which he vinified without any inputs, before moving on to Burgundy's climats. An active member of the new Burgundy guard, Jon recently took over several tenanted vineyards in Saint-Aubin and Puligny-Montrachet. Up until then, the vines had been run by one of the few mixed growers on the Côte: Jean-Jacques Morel. Jon now has a super plot of vines that are well beyond organic standards, which he works as much as possible with horses, and with the utmost precision.
