Domaine Derain
Domaine Derain, founded by Dominique Derain, is a pillar of natural wine in Burgundy. For over 30 years, Dominique and his wife have cultivated a 6-hectare estate in Saint-Aubin, practicing biodynamics with passion. Their philosophy: minimal intervention in vineyards and cellars, using horn dung, silica and other natural preparations to express the terroir with purity.
Domaine Derain wines, renowned for their authenticity and freshness, have made their mark on the world of natural wine. Cuvées such as Plante Chassey and La Combe have become benchmarks, appreciated for their faithful expression of terroir and their finesse.
Since late 2016, Julien Altaber of Maison Sextant has taken over the estate with Carole Schwab, continuing Dominique's legacy. Under their direction, the domaine continues to produce wines without artifice, bringing together parcels under the Domaine Derain banner to offer free-flowing, authentic Saint-Aubin, Pommard and other Burgundies.
