Maxime Crotet
Maxime Crotet is a passionate Burgundian winemaker, having started in 2021 after a decade of apprenticeship with Frédéric Cossard, an iconic figure in natural wines in Saint-Romain . This experience has allowed him to master organic farming practices and natural winemaking methods. His work is distinguished by an environmentally friendly approach, selecting grapes from vineyards cultivated using organic and biodynamic farming. The grape varieties worked include Pinot Noir in Burgundy and Jura , Gamay in Beaujolais , as well as Grenache, Syrah and Carignan in Vaucluse. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified without additives, reflecting a philosophy of interventionist minimalism. Fermentation takes place in small vats, followed by aging for 8 to 10 months in mostly neutral barrels , in order to preserve the pure expression of the fruit and the terroir. Maxime Crotet's wines are renowned for their purity, freshness , and ability to faithfully express the terroirs from which they come. His commitment to sustainable winemaking practices and natural winemaking has made him a rising star in the field of natural wines in France .
