Clément Poirel
A fresh wind in Beaulieu-sur-Layon
Taking over Jean-François Chéné’s estate
Clément Poirel moved to Beaulieu-sur-Layon in 2020 after taking over the estate from Jean-François Chéné. The vines are located mainly on the slate hillsides of Beaulieu, the soils have been worked in organic farming since 2005.
A natural and patient approach
Crunchy reds and long-aged Chenin
The vinification is as natural as possible, and the reds are crisp, with little alcohol (between 9.5% and 10. 5%). Clément, who thinks in the long term, has opted directly for a long aging of his Chenin wines, two years in barrel.
