Sandrine Farrugia
Sandrine arrived in mainland France at the age of 4, arriving from her native Guyana for the Paris region. She has known the world of wine for a while since she began her career working in the trade for a Japanese importer fond of natural wines. At that time the Asian market for natural wines was booming, so she would taste, educate herself, reassure herself in her tastes and appetites. and then she will meet the man who will become her husband: Elian Da Ros, a well-known winemaker from Marmandais. She then joined him in 2008 to settle with him in the village of Cocumont. There she will work alongside him. He will train her in work in the vineyard, in winemaking and continue to raise her awareness of biodynamics.
One fine day in 2012, the couple received the offer to take over 0.52 ha of young Sémillon and Sauvignon vines, the only problem was that the plot was not organic. Elian cannot therefore integrate it into his vintages... not a problem and there is no question of missing out on these beautiful terroirs: Sandrine will recover them! His solo adventure can begin.
She then sought to convert her micro-domain into organic, releasing her first vintage, L’esprit Libre. Some time later she will recover, from Stéphanie Roussel, 2 hectares of red in Romestaing. Sandrine is free, she pampers her vines biodynamically and does not forbid herself anything, she experiments, feels and works very gently. And these juices are felt.
