Julien Crinquand
Julien Crinquand settles in Arsures where he takes care of 5 hectares of vines in the Arbois appellation, inherited from his father and grandfather. The vines are divided into 3 sectors: Bodines, Mailloche and Verleule, and include the traditional Jura grape varieties, Savagnin, Chardonnay, Trousseau, Pinot and Poulsard with a majority of whites. Julien was not predestined to become a winemaker straight away, but destiny decided otherwise. After a professional reconversion, he chose to return to his native Jura and take charge of the precious family plots whose grapes were historically sold to the Arbois fruit farm. To improve his skills, Julien Crinquand followed training alongside Philippe Bornard and Fabrice Dodane, completing his BTS viti-oeno in 2017. Like many winegrowers involved in the Jura wine renewal, Julien is part of a lineage which aims to promote the terroir while respecting the vines and nature. His work in the vines is therefore carried out in organic farming, while his winemaking in the cellar is based on the use of native yeasts, without any addition of inputs, thus preserving the finesse of his wines. Since the 2019 vintage, he has been flying solo, continuing his quest for the purest expression of the Jura terroirs.
