Nicolas Morin House
Nicolas Morin, originally from the Vosges, began his career as a cooper in the Bordeaux region. Fascinated by the world of wine, he then turned to viticulture, becoming vineyard manager in Côtes de Nuits, then cellar master in Bordeaux. Building on his experiences in the same position in Australia and South Africa, he founded Maison Nicolas Morin in Nuits-Saint-Georges in 2014, becoming a négociant/viticulteur. His passion for organic farming guides him, declaring that it's the future and that he wants to preserve the respect and magic of the great Burgundy terroir. In 2019, he will take over three hectares of vines in Mâlain, 30 minutes east of Dijon.
Located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the Maison buys grapes and musts from organic and biodynamic winegrowers. Vinification is carried out gently, by gravity, without excessive pumping. The appellations worked by Nicolas include Meursault, Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, Santenay, Beaune, Monthélie, and of course, Nuits-Saint-Georges. He selects the finest parcels such asEn Saint-Jean, Les Epenottes and Les Terres Blanches.
