Domaine Dame-Jeanne
Jeanne Moreau created the micro Domaine Dame Jeanne in 2017. Daughter of Dominique Moreau - Champagne Marie Courtin - and Robert Piollot - Champagne Piollot - Jeanne has always been immersed in vines and wine. She studied at the Beaune wine school, then settled on this 2.30 hectares plot located in the Châtillonnais.
For her, organic and biodynamic farming was obvious. His two parents are in fact among the pioneers of this movement within Champagne. Needless to say, no chemicals are used in the vineyards or in the cellar.
The wines of Domaine Dame Jeanne claim the Côteaux Bourguignons appellation: Châtillonnais is on the border of Champagne and Burgundy. The terroirs are mainly limestone with some red marl. Jeanne mainly grows Chardonnay, Gamay and Pinot Noir. produces delicious still wines, but obviously also some bubbles in natural sparkling and the Champagne method. The Alchémille vintage is a perfect example of Jeanne's style: a quiet Chardonnay, halfway between a Chablis and a Côteau Champenois.
An area to follow, between Champagne and Burgundy, for all lovers of natural wines.
