Elian Da Ros

In the heart of the Lot-et-Garonne region, in the Côtes du Marmandais, Domaine d'Elian Da Ros embodies a family heritage steeped in tradition and passion. The winegrowing adventure began in Cocumont, on the left bank of the Garonne. Elian's father already cultivated various crops, including vines, whose grapes he delivered to the local cooperative winery. From an early age, Elian nurtured the dream of becoming a winemaker, an ambition that prompted him to begin studying viticulture-oenology at the age of 14. After five years spent in Alsace perfecting his skills, he decided in 1997 to return to the family land and build his own winery. The 1998 vintage marked the beginning of his own winegrowing adventure.
The estate extends over 19 hectares of slopes, on a terroir of gravel and clay-limestone. Since 2000, the vines have been cultivated organically, and since 2002 biodynamically, demonstrating Elian Da Ros's commitment to environmentally-friendly viticulture. However, faced with the vagaries of the climate, notably two consecutive years of hail, the winemaker has had to adapt his production by buying grapes from a winegrower friend for certain cuvées, while maintaining a high level of rigor in grape selection.
In the vineyard and in the cellar, attention to detail is the cornerstone of Elian Da Ros's philosophy. Every gesture, every decision, contributes to shaping wines that fully express the terroir of origin and the unique character of each vintage. At the crossroads of Guyenne and Gascony, on the terraces of the Garonne, the Domaine d'Elian Da Ros unfolds its full potential, showcasing its 21.5 hectares of vines, including 2.5 dedicated to white grape varieties. This quest for finesse and elegance continues in the cellar, where the wines are delicately aged, preserving their authentic expression and singular character.
Elian Da Ros is the embodiment of viticultural excellence in the Lot-et-Garonne, giving his cuvées a place of choice among the finest nectars of the Sud-Ouest. A career marked by success and a constant quest for quality, Elian Da Ros has put the spotlight on Côtes du Marmandais, an appellation that is still little-known. Through his wines, Elian Da Ros invites wine lovers to discover the richness and diversity of this exceptional terroir, where wine becomes a veritable feast for the senses.
