Marthe Henry
A return to her roots in Meursault
Marthe Henry first pursued a career in journalism in Paris. Granddaughter of Pierre Boillot, she eventually felt the call of her origins and returned to the family village of Meursault in 2017. She trained at the Beaune Wine School and worked at the Domaine Rougeot in Meursault. She launched her own négociant business in 2017 with a few barrels of Bourgogne Blanc and Meursault. In 2023, she took over part of the family vineyards.
A philosophy of simple and respectful winemaking
Marthe Henry favors natural, unadorned winemaking. The wines ferment naturally, and she limits interventions but does not hesitate to make adjustments if necessary.
The winemaking is done without sulfur, and the wines are only lightly filtered before bottling. Long aging – at least 18 months – takes place mostly in oak barrels.
Marthe takes the time to do things properly, which partly explains the growing interest in her precise and sincere wines.
