Philippe Viet
Philippe Viet, a former Parisian consultant, undertook a reconversion to viticulture in 2015. He trained with several renowned winemakers, notably in Australia, with Bernard Baudry in Chinon in the Loire, and above all with Éric Janin in Beaujolais. Between 2015 and 2018, Philippe honed his skills in pruning, vineyard work, harvesting and winemaking at Éric Janin, where he even produced a test cuvée of Chénas in 2017. Based in Villié-Morgon, in the heart of Beaujolais, a region famous for its natural wines, Philippe cultivates around 4 hectares of vines in the Régnié and Fleurie appellations. Passionate and methodical, he began his conversion to organic farming in 2020, with the aim of producing wines as pure as possible. Philippe Viet makes wines designed for ageing, characterized by a straightforward, slightly firm and very elegant style. He attaches the utmost importance to the organic cultivation of his vines, prioritizing quality over quantity. His wines, particularly those from the Régnié and Fleurie appellations, are distinguished by their density and complexity, faithfully reflecting the terroirs of the Beaujolais region. Thanks to his passion for viticulture and the solid training he received from great winemakers, Philippe Viet quickly established himself in the world of wine. His elegant, environmentally-friendly wines bear witness to his commitment to high-quality, sustainable viticulture. In settling in Villié-Morgon, Philippe Viet has chosen an emblematic region to realize his vision of viticulture. His rigorous work and respect for organic practices have enabled him to produce wines that are both authentic and refined, earning him the recognition of wine lovers.
